The bad poet tries to fill a hole inside herself.
That’s what her large cottony words
are for, but the pink strands melt
in a hot mouth
and she can’t round the square ideas
hard fixed to quatrains, stairstepped
arcs of emotion, coglike grinding
the moment of creation to dust.
The thought is too simple,
but the thought is tangled
